where they appreciate me.

well hey, this is my first blog on here. cute, huh?

you might have noticed: i don’t capitalise much. it’s a habit now, and i rather like the aesthetic!

up until now Myspace Blogs has been my only haven, but i’ve decided to branch out. i’ll be posting over some of my other work from there to here; i write poetry for the most part but some prose and general life blogging too, but not much.

anyway, i should probably introduce myself:

i’m Francesca, living in a leafy suburb of Yorkshire. i’ve never been one for suburbs, but unfortunately for now i’m stuck with it. i’m in my final year of high school at the moment, but i’m moving on to do A-Level English Language and Literature as well as Psychology and Sociology (i aspire to become a high school English teacher, fancy that). i write poetry to let off some steam, but sometimes it’s just to amuse people as well as myself.

anyway, whilst i sort out the rest of the site, here’s something I wrote recently.

classics

i close my eyes and memorise
every word; painted
in invisible ink over soft curves
running ultraviolet lights over
hips neck back eyelids
telling me a day in the life of

in the entity of you,
i only have to ask to read
your cursive sonnet, my favourite-
a story that puts me at ease-
curling up with my favourite book
under covers we go
to sleep

against the harsh daybreak
i ask “which poet conceived you?”
you swore i was the only one
who could see it

“for glory, for beauty, for ever”
