3rd february 2008:”zoom lens syndrome”

“zoom lens syndrome”

there lived a girl with her virgin dread
slept in silence and moved like a dream
quietly calculating consequences

the boy upstairs with golden hair
green eyes swimming violently
in frustrated contemplation he swore

he broke her belt across the bed
her ugly loud laughter down the halls
always silent in the fear, now realised
up close his movements seemed unsure
his hair seemed darkish brown
and in those eyes she could not swim

ps: a quick explanation-although feel free to draw your conclusions on the poem itself, it came about after continuously being stuck on Bright Eyes’ earlier albums. there is one thing in the poem that’s kind of difficult to decode, but i want to see if anybody gets it… :]
